Can your waters break without your cervix being dilated?
Hello! I don't have a medical background, but my first baby was breech and the cord prolapsed. I did not know he was breech until I got to the hospital, because up until that point my doctor ured me he was head down even though I suspected otherwise... So at 35 weeks my water broke (I don't know if my cervix was dilated or not, but I do not think they are dependent on each other) and when I got to the hospital I found out my son was breech, and I had to have an emergency c-section because the cord had prolapsed. My water broke at about 2:30/3:00 p.m. and he was delivered at 4:27 p.m. and he was fine - 100% perfect =). If your water breaks and you can feel the cord in your , you should get on your hands and knees and call for an ambulance. I know it is scary, but everything should be fine as long as you are aware of what to do should an emergency arise. Good luck!
