Christians: why live your lives in perpetual fear of doomsday; why, dear Christians, why?

Of all the religious crazies in the world, only Christian crazies go crazy about doomsday predictions. What do you guys gain out of this? Do you really think that some ritual you once performed in public and publically admitting belief in something for which there is no evidence, will make any difference to you if the world is about to end? I think you guys are crazy for running around like a chicken who claimed the sky was falling after an acorn fell on its head. You’re just spreading panic and it achieves no purpose, no purpose at all! In fact, it does more harm than good; it makes people take their eye off the ball. We must keep our eye on the ball, dear Christians; for the good of humanity, we must keep our eye on the ball.
