Don't you think it's sad that only 2.35% of the Earth's population are atheist?

I am an atheist and i find it sad that there are only 2.35% of the Earth's population out there that are well informed. I mean, as a kid we may believe in the tooth fairy and maybe even the boogie monster but as we grow up we realize that these are just stories. Maybe it's time for religious people to open their eyes for once and gain a better understanding of what is a story and what is the real world.
