Well, I sometimes feel like I am profiled in stores that Asian immigrants own. I've been followed around the stores while I was shopping as if I were trying to steal. This is not a major chain; I'm speaking of local mom and pop stores in the ghetto. Of course, there are some individuals that are up to no good in these areas but I feel disgusted to be discriminated against because I happen to have dark skin.

My dad has no respect for my feelings?

My dad recently came back to the states from out of town. At first, I didn't mind being with him after him being gone for so long. Nowadays, since he doesn't have a car because he just got back from overseas, either me or my mom have to lend him our cars whenever he wants to go out. My mom's at work most of the time and so it's often me having to lend my car. At first, I didn't want to because my dad speeds and swerves on the road. Somehow, I'm really protective of my car since it's old and it runs slow in general. And whenever I drive my dad around town, he's always bossing me around when I'm driving and I could hardly concentrate on keeping an eye on the road because he was talking so loud. One time, we got into a fight over that in the parking lot and my dad was going to take my car keys away. He said that it was HIS car. Technically, it's actually my car because it's under my name and he did not buy the car, my aunt did. My mom and I tried to tell him to stop bossing me around when I'm driving. He just doesn't listen. Then, my mom and I talked and she convinced me to let him borrow my car for sometime cuz he's planning to get his own car soon. So nowadays, I would let him borrow my car whenever he wanted. And I'm not even in the mood to fight with him these days. Every day of my life for the last 10 years, I have had conversations with myself. Actually talking to myself as if the people I want to talk to are really there in front of me. I am 15 and in high school. My family and I were walking from the Garden in Boston to our car that we parked a block away in a parking garage. We were across the street and we see this guy climb onto the ledge; about six stories up. He was stumbling but I didn't think anything was going to happen. He threw something then just..jumped. No will, what can we do now?

My aunt died last month and no one can find her will. She filed everything away including tax returns from the 1970's and every other important doent imaginable, but no will. She had lung cancer, emphysema, and COPD, and knew she was dying and even told us she was leaving a will, but no one's been able to find one. She helped raise me and another woman and promised to leave us many things including houses and other belongings, and now since there is no will we will get nothing and relatives that she had no relation with and even disdained will get everything. My grandmother is her only remaining sibling alive and is too tired to deal with everything right away, so we haven't gone to all the banks, or checked if there's anything in safety deposit boxes or things like that. And the other woman that she raised had been living in the house with her when she died and credit cards were stolen and thousands of dollars were charged to it and we don't know if foul play was involved with the will being stolen or not. But I was wondering what can we do now, she lived in NY and I live in NC so its hard for me to help because I'm the only one with enough time to do it. Hello! I don't have a medical background, but my first baby was breech and the cord prolapsed. I did not know he was breech until I got to the hospital, because up until that point my doctor ured me he was head down even though I suspected otherwise... So at 35 weeks my water broke (I don't know if my cervix was dilated or not, but I do not think they are dependent on each other) and when I got to the hospital I found out my son was breech, and I had to have an emergency c-section because the cord had prolapsed. My water broke at about 2:30/3:00 p.m. and he was delivered at 4:27 p.m. and he was fine - 100% perfect =). If your water breaks and you can feel the cord in your , you should get on your hands and knees and call for an ambulance. I know it is scary, but everything should be fine as long as you are aware of what to do should an emergency arise. Good luck!

the other day i was called out to a situation, i'm an MP (military policeman) and i was at a call, domestic disturbance, a man had multiple weapons in the home and SRT (military swat) was called to handle it. i was set as an MO with a long rifle and told if i see him with gun in hand and looks if going to fire, to drop him. so there i was laying prone, cross hairs on his head, then it hit me... i was scared, i didn't want to kill this man, not because i am a coward, but because i enjoyed the feeling i was feeling.. i had the power to end it in a second... well, the man gave up easy and no shots were fired.. my question is, can there be a good evil? How to get over my fear?

I am terribly afraid of flies, maggots, larvae, and ants. Whenever I see them I flip out and start screaming and crying. I am afraid of them because once when I was younger I was hiding under a bed during hide and go seek and I realized that there was a dead bird my cat had brought in and all of those things were on me and near me. That traumatized me. Now if any of those things touch me I will legit start crying and freak out. I am more afraid of those things then ANYTHING else, like anything. They typically are not very expensive, so that may be a good price if you can get rid of it with a clear conscious. as for smackdown vs raw- same thing, but know that you can always get the next in the series afterwords. I recommend keeping them unless you Absolutely want rid of them, and if so, try selling or trading to friends. I cleaned the outside of mine with mouthwash. You know how you're supposed to care for an oral piercing with brushing your teeth & rinsing your mouth with Scope or Listerine after eating? I just used the mouthwash outside, too. Ice is good for the swelling. I rinsed my mouth with regular salt water like once a day and that helped with the healing (or at least it seemed to). Lip and tongue piercings are like two of the fastest healing piercings. Mine was healed in less than a month. It would've been healed after a week or two but I couldn't stop playing with it lol. Why am I measuring smaller when a month ago I was measuring perfect for my pregnancy?

I had my last ultrasound on September 25th and everything was perfect. The fluid, the baby’s weight, size, and my date was confirmed as feb 12th. I just had a doctors apt last Friday and she said I am measuring no where near the 23 weeks I should be at. She scheduled me for another ultrasound for the 30th. Is this something I should be worried about? And what can cause this? And I even had a checkup the week before the last ultrasound and everything measured fine then too. They couldn’t tell last time what we were having because the cord was laying inbetween his/her legs so I am excited to be able to hopefully see this time but then also worried about what this could mean. My first daughter was only 3 days early and she weighed 5lbs 14.5oz. I know with her I had numerous ultrasounds due to a strange antibody I had and I can’t remember if any of them were due to measuring small so I am kind of worried. Please let me know your thoughts

My boyfriend is a "G", how do I explain to my parents we are getting married. ?

4 those of u who don't know what a "G" is don't even reply, keep it movin. For those of you who do, then u understand my dilema. I love my man and we have been 2gether for a long time through all the ups and downs and its just that time to tie the knot. we r both ready and on the same page. we have an 8yr. old and a 2yr. old. i have a college degree, a great career, working on my masters, we just brought a house. How can I be okay with the fact that there's no romance in my relationship?

My husband is the most unromantic man ever. When I was younger, I thought it was because he was poor and didn't have the money to wine and dine me. Now that I'm older and we both have more money, I've come to realize that romance is something he considers unimportant. After 8 years together, he's never brought me flowers, made me a meal, planned a romantic surprise date for us, left me a love note, etc. For the last few years, the only birthday/christmas presents I've received are the ones I've bought and wrapped myself. My partner lost his job 6 months ago and I lost mine 4 months ago. We are not on welfare and living off savings. However, my partner now wants to emigrate as theres no work around here. My parents will go bezerk and really not be happy at me leaving. I'm back with my therapist over these issues. I've had 6 sessions recently , she says i should live my own life and go wtih my partner. I'm finding this very stressful. She also diagnosed me with severe depression and says to go and get medication from a doctor. She then said she feels bad i'm spending all this money on therapy and says that i can just check in with her by phone soem of the time and not to spend money on sessions at this time. She has always told me i'm one of her special clients and that shes so proud of me. What do you think? I interpreted it as she was sick of me coming to sessions and im a bit hurt?

Try to invent something new, such as a visit to some interesting place - the Holocaust Rememberance Museum in DC the day of the shootings or a visit to the NASA Space Museum or something the sisters have in common but would look at differently - they all like animals but one is a member of PETA , another's a horse trainer and the third a butcher's apprentice and they all fall in love with the same guy. There has to be a source of conflict for your characters ---- no conflict, no story.

You have a cute plot going there, but you should probably switch the format around a bit. For instance, make sure to stay in the same tense throughout the whole story. Is Kelsey telling the story as it is happening or how it happened? It was a little wobbly...I would also use some transitions between your chapters. The story doesn't flow. It is also easier to read when you put quotations around the spoken dialogue. Just to remind you, when a new person/character speaks you need to skip down anotherl line. It will be much easier to understand, and you will not have to say, "I said" and, "he said". Try to find other words besides "said", such as:exclaimed, yelled, whispered, stated, questioned, ect. Here is an example...The coach strolled around to where I was tumbling and cheerfully exclaimed, "Nice tumbling there, girl. What was your name again?" So, your only issues are tenses, flowing, and grammar. Fix those, and you will have a creative, steady, and wonderful story! Post it again once you fix it. I would love to read it! Our neighbors' cat spends a lot of time at our house and when he arrives, he has to rub his nose and cheeks against our chins really hard. But often, later on, he stretches his body up toward us when we're standing and when we lean down, he grabs our shoulders/neck with his paws and pulls, digging his claws in. Then he can't seem to get close enough to our faces no matter how hard he's pressing, taking moments to nip our chins as if we aren't responding correctly. If we pick him up, he gets rougher. i have very mild dyslexia and im currently learning to drive. im also learning in a manual pretty much for the same reasons as you are but also here in the UK (i dont know where your from) if you learn in an automatic once you p you can only get an automatic car you cant drive a manual,but if you learn in a manual you can get an automatic once you p. i dont struggle to much at school but when im driving the bits i find the hardest is remembering what gear im actually in when it comes to changing it, then when it comes to changing it the coordination of doing the pedal the stick controlling the car looking where im going and then getting the right amount of gas once its in gear. i also struggle to remember what ive learnt the week before even though i know it, it just takes a while for me to bring it back to memory. apart from that i dont struggle to much. im trying to believe in myself a bit more to give me the confidence i need and to kind of reure myself that i CAN drive it just might take me a little bit longer than everyone else. Im hoping to p my test first time which would be a great achievement, if not then its not the end of the world, just got to keep trying

What kind of deck / patio?

I am interested in getting a deck built. The one I saw in particular was made of brick and was like a half circle from the backside of the house. Pfaff 130 starting hard--where is kay the sewing machine maven?

Just got a Pfaff 130, a freebie! When I got it, the motor smoked almost as soon as I turned it on. I have oiled it according to the manual, taken apart the motor and cleaned it up, and the machine now seems to be running quite nicely except for one thing. I can't get it to start at anything but full speed. When I press on the foot pedal, it hums a bit as foot pedals sometimes do and then runs full bore as soon as the pedal is far enough down. After it's started, I can alter the speed as I wish but not for the first few seconds. Any advice? I've never used one of these before and don't quite know what to expect.

What's the best way to help a child with possible DYSLEXIA?

My son seems to have problems writing sentences out although he can read fairly well. He also has some communication problems, he almost speaks as if he's 7 instead of 9. We are planning to do vision therapies with him since my husband is an eye doctor. We know dyslexia is not just about switching letters around like people think it is although he does switch d's and b's and writes "saw" for "was" but there's a lot more to what he does than that. And it fits with all the info. I've been researching on the internet as well. We think his biological mother did drugs while he was in the womb (he is adopted), anyway now he is the most wonderful child he just has a few problems in school and in communication. He is in special ed cles and has I.E.Ps but the public school system says they don't even test for dyslexia or treat it, they just make "accommodations" to help him and try other things. If you have other great ideas we can do at home, since we can't really afford to send him to this special school I was reading about on the internet since it's a ridiculous 50,000 a year! Why won't my dog come for a walk?

You must have patience! Do not tug her, it's not good. If she has a choke collar or anything, that's why! Replace it immediatly with a regualr collar. When she lays down or tries to sit, say 'come on girl' in a calm tone. You have to be calm and happy, for her to be. When she stops and seems she doesn't want to, don't tug, but wait for her to come. When she does, give her a treat. Every time she stops, do the treat thing. Once she starts walking, throughout the walk tell her how good she is and use nice gentle words. Just remember, don't tug. It's probably making the problem worse. If it gets worse, go to a vet. Plus yeah, it could be joint problems.

Any God believer able to refute chapter 4 of the God Delusion by Richard Dawkins?

I've read the God Delusion and chapter 4 is titled "Why there almost certainly is not a God". This chapter is brilliant. It's argument is flawless. If you are an atheist I advise you to read it. If you believe I advise that you should really read it!!!! Basically, It argues that most people argue for God by a series of regression questions. They then use God to terminate as the origin. What they fail to realise is that God's origin is not explained. Something as powerful, large and complex as God needs an explanation. God agravates the problem and does not explain it. I have yet to see a believer even try to answer the problem posed by the good professor. Anyone wanna try to explain their objection to this very powerful argument?

1 yr old feedings.... help!? ideas?

I worked in a day care for a while in the one year old room, and they ate anything and everything. Just some things need to be cut up. They had pizza, soup, crackers and cheese, veggies, fruit. They would have daily a main dish with a vegetable and a fruit. Like Mandarin Oranges, Fruit tail, Pears...Bananas. On Friday's sometimes they would serve cheese pizza that we would cut up. They had pasta with sauce like you said, mac n cheese. Peas, broccoli, carrots and the like frozen veggies that have several in them. The reliability sucks on them. Being that it only 40,000 miles on it, you should be okay for another year or two before you'll have to start making repairs on it. Also, fuel consumption is high and your insurance will go up. Not knock Ford because they actually have been making pretty good vehicles for quite a while. The Mountaineer is not one of them. Also, consider that Mercury is disappearing after this year. Just pay for a diagnostic and find out what is actually wrong with the car before getting rid of the Camry. It might be something minor causing the issues to mimick other problems. Sounds like you're taking the car to idiots (- yes, some Toyota techs are guilty of this too.) It's most likely either intake or exhaust related. I'm thinking dirty EGR valve and/or throttle body. That's what it sounds like to me. That could cause the other problems as well. Heck get the Mountaineer, sell it and the Camry and buy something more reliable.

Before i was thinking of moving out. But now i said why bother if i have everything i need at my moms house. I have my own room, good food everyday,swimming pool and a backyard playground. I am a veterinary technician, also foster/rescue for the Pet Adoption League of Tulsa. When I lived in Salt Lake City, I volunteered at the Human Society of Utah. I always leave the shelter crying. It's so sad. We are compionate people, that LOVE animals. You just need to try and think positive thoughts, that they find a good home. I cannot say no, when someone asks me to take in their pet, for whatever reason. Even if I can't take it, I do, then try and at least have another foster family take it.It's an awesome feeling for what you are doing. Wish there were MORE people like you in this world!

I dont understand the music scale?

Im learning guitar and I really don't fully understand what a scale is or what its used for. My guess is it a group of notes together and you cant play out side of the group so it makes easier to know the notes. Appendicitis: Did I have it?

About 2 and a half years ago, I developed a pain around my navel (as if it was being pulled from the inside), and a low fever. Over the course of a couple days, it moved to the area of my right kidney, and got REALLY painful. It would hurt with every cough, sneeze, or any sudden movement, I even had to bend a certain way to walk. Then one day, I woke up, and it was just gone, so I thought no more about it. Recently, a friend of mine was complaining of the same symptoms (exactly the same, location, movement, and fever), I told him it was nothing, it'd go away in time. His girlfriend dragged him to the hospital, were he was told his appendix had ruptured. He is now preparing for surgery... I've been told for most of my life that untreated appendicitis is a death sentence, which leads me to 2 possible conclusions. Either my friend was mis-diagnosed, or I somehow DID survive it, with just a couple weeks of blinding pain....

Why don't councils maintain public gardens anymore?

Years ago they used to plant flowers in them here and maintain them to a high standard but now they're all overgrown with weeds and the gr is mostly left to grow wild where they can get away with it. Even public footpaths have weeds growing through them and bushes and shrubs overhang pathways that sometimes you have to walk on the road to get by. They seem to have stopped bothering about what the place looks like and now leave the gr on the sides of road to grow wild instead of cutting it like they used to and the public pond is so polluted there's no fish left in it.

For the good of Grandma and for her safety, she needs to be where she can be cared for - isted living, move in with a family member, what ever.
